Maui Jim got its start in the 1980's as a small company selling sunglasses on Ka'anapali beach in Lahaina, Maui. Seeing a need in the market for technology that could combat intense glare and harmful UV, the revolutionary PolarizedPlus® lens was born. To bring the brilliant colors of the island to life, the addition of color enhancement was added to the design, which is why our current technology is called PolarizedPlus2.
What began as a collection of seven styles, has evolved into over 150 styles of sunglasses in hundreds of different colors, shapes, and materials.
